Hello from Orlando!
Brody did absolutely wonderful on his first flight to get us to Orlando this past Saturday! He slept the majority of the time so we couldn’t have asked for more. Hopefully that’s an indicator that he will do well when the time comes to make the trip across the globe. 😉 Time will tell!
We dove right into our classes and training here on Sunday following worship and introductions. They have kept us very busy but they are giving us lots of important information to help us grow as partners on the mission field. We have been so blessed to get to meet such wonderful people here, many who are also headed to Papua New Guinea!! This has been such an encouragement and God has allowed us to already start building friendships with families we could be neighbors with in the near future! Like I mentioned, we had a chance to listen to how everyone here has been called to Wycliffe and it’s been so neat to see the variety of journeys God has taken us all on. Some families have already been overseas for several years and some are new to it all, like us.
Brody has been adjusting to a new routine and is finally starting to get some good naps in while he stays with the wonderful childcare volunteers during the day. He absolutely LOVES getting to play with/watch the older kids so they often combine the “baby” class with the toddlers. I can’t believe Brody will be one year old in 5 days! He has already made friends and getting to spend his birthday here will be very special for us.
Prayers would be appreciated for Brody as he continues to adjust in his class and that Johnny and I can absorb and implement all of the new things we are learning here. Also for energy for the next week ahead! God is doing some very special things here at Wycliffe and with Bible translation and we are so excited to be a part of it!
